Okay, so the types of skates that are good for landing jumps and spins and just plain old skating are probably Jackson Ultima skates. I have these and they work amazingly! I am at the same step as you and I got these skates and was so happy with them! I know you will be happy too if you get these skates! Good luck in your competition! Hope I helped!

You should look into Riedell, which is one of the top leading brands. They are a bit pricey-but they feel great and improve your skating wonderfully. The site is here: http://www.riedellskates.com and they have an online catalog that you can look at. In this, you will find a whole section dedicated to their line of competitive figure skates. They also have a recommendation part of the catalog that shows you, depending on your skating level, which boots and blades would be the best for you.

The best skates are the ones that suit your level and fit your foot. Do not choose a skate just b/c someone else wears it. You need to be measured and fit by a professional boot fitter.

Okay you deffinintly want to get competitive skates. If you go to a figure skating store, the people there can help you pick the right ones. However, if you don’t go to a shop, look for boots (the bottom part) that AREN’T PLASTIC!!!! You need sturier boots for jumping and spinning. Good Luck.
