do they allow ice skates in luggage to be taken on planes?

i’ve never flown before, but i’m planning a trip in feb. i’m a hockey player, and i want to take my skates, but i don’t know if they’ll allow me to pack them in my bag that will be put in the luggage compartment. so do any of you guys have any tips for me?

i reckon you could put them in the luggage compartment as long as the blade is covered/protected, to prevent injury to baggage handlers.

The TSA will probably consider it a sharp object. I don’t recommend carrying them on the plane.
