am i to old to be good at skatebording?

hey im 16 years old and i can skate board but cant really do any tricks i know im young still and i will be ok at skateboarding if i start now but like realistically how good could i be at this age
thx for your help

You can skate when you’re fifty if you want to. Don’t let anything stop you from skating, dude. If you’re thirty and want to start skating, you go for it…skate boarding’s culture is spreading, and so people want in…believe me, dude. It’s inviting.

I’ve been skating since I was nine. I’m fourteen now, and it’s changed me so much. But, think about this. If you’re 16 now, by the time you’re thirty or so, you’ll be way better than all the kids who just quit when they get a good job and don’t have time.

Go for it. Whatever your heart tells you is true, dude. Don’t let anyone tell you different.

Good luck,
Ryan

You could obviously be better, but that doesn’t mean that you SHOULD, because you’re sixteen. If you were in your forties and asking this question, I’d say yes, you are kinda old, but you’re only sixteen. Have fun with it while you can.

As far as I know, there’s no age limit for skateboarding. Tony Hawk is 41, and is one of the best skateboarders in the world. He stays that way by constantly learning new tricks, and cross training by working out 4 hours a day at the gym.

I took up skateboarding as an adult. I can ollie one inch, drop into a small halfpipe, and do 90 degree kick turns. Not that it would give Tony Hawk any sleepless nights, but it GREATLY improved my snowboarding, which is the reason I took it up – to cross train for snowboarding.

    I say, Go For It!
