what are the advantages of using a map and what are the advantages of using a globe?
i have an exam on geography tomorrow, and i know this question is going to be on there, also what is geography? i find these two questions hardest to explain please help? oh and for that advantages question its like a map shows more specific details, and a globe allows you to view the whole world, yes details like that. please help. Thanks!
a map is always distorted because it’s impossible to portray a 3-dimensional sphere onto a 2 dimensional map, without distortions. Therefore, with accuracy, a globe is better.
A map is more handy because it can be laid on a desk and studied much easier. It’s also more portable and can be easily stored and folded, etc.
A map can be scaled so you can see as much detail as you want. You can fit the entire world on a map, or you can change the scale and show only a city, and depict every single street.
You can’t scale a globe very easily. If you made a globe big enough to see every street, the globe would be HUGE
