i've had a couple building project in the past, cathedrals, castles, towers, forts, etc. i tried using legos but it was just way too complicated. the easiest way, and i think you should really consider this, is to go to a craft store or even wal mart and get floral foam. it's easy to cut with a regular eating knife, doesnt make the screeching styrofoam sound and sticks together with all purpose glue. very easy to carve and shape curves. you can paint and decorate it however you want, cut out windows, and it's not very expensive. it's near impossible to make curved or diagonals with legos unless you make it very big. also, once my friend made hers out of lego and on the way to school the whole thing collapsed, legos arent very reliable. also, foam is lighter so it would be easy to bring to school.

Look on the Internet for how to make a curved wall out of bricks.

Google lists 10K hits on "make a curved wall Lego."

Includes a Mobius structure made of Legos.
