You sound like you’re comfortable on hockey skates. It takes around six to eight hours to transition to figure skates. Going from figure skates to hockey skates is easier – only takes an hour or two for a good skater.

The FS boots fit more tightly and come up higher on your calf.
The FS blades are flatter and longer, so heel edge turns will be tricky.
The toe pick is there. Don’t rock to the front of the skate to push off, etc. unless it’s intentional.
That’s usually the real problem – if your basic skating skills are poor (toe pushing in this case), changing skates is difficult.

I’ve been out on the ice a couple times, and I’ve been using rental skates. I’m starting to like it, and I’m interested in buying myself a pair of skates so I can get better, and eventually move up into being a goaltender. I took it up about 3 months ago and I love it, even though I’ve only played street hockey. With that said, what kind of skates would be good beginner skates?

First off, do you want goalie skates or regular hockey skates? Goalie skated have a lower ankle like a midtop tennis shoe.
I would start out with a lowend skate before dropping $300-$500 on a pair. Here a few good low end skates, but remember you get what you pay for.
Player Skates:
CCM- VO3, VO4 VO5 (not a fan of these)
Bauer- Vapor X05, Vapor X15 or Vapor X20, Supreme One 15 and up. (Big fan of Bauer skates) also they have a better selection of lower end skates.
Easton- Stealth S7,

Goalie Skates:
Dont know much about goalie skated but I would stick with the CCM or Bauer Brands.

i asked my coach that question because mine always get loose and she said it was the laces and that i needed to get new ones. so i did and now they always stay tight:]] so thats what i would suggest. but make sure you find the longest laces there are and if they are too long you can just cut them.

i reckon you could put them in the luggage compartment as long as the blade is covered/protected, to prevent injury to baggage handlers.

I want to ask how to brake in your skates the easiest way. Because I live in bulgaria and we do not have any machines to heat up your boot! And if any one can give me some tips on how to pimp out my skates (I mean put some cushion or something so it is more comfortable.).Thank you! BTW my skates model are Powerslide Nexus 08.

The easiest and fastest way to break in your skates without heating them is to simply skate in them. You could probably get some blade guards and wear them around your house to help break them in, I normally wouldn’t advise this but it could work for you.

There isn’t really much you can do to make them more comfortable. They should be a lot more comfortable when you break them in. If there is a problem spot that is bugging you, you can get some Bunga pads to help cushion it.

I am an 8.5 in womens shoes and I have hockey skates, which are missions, that are a size 9. I am looking to order a pair of Rollerblade aggressive skates. I am ordering my skates online and I don’t want to order the wrong size. Some websites tell me to order one size and others tell me another thing. Help me please!

I would ask the shop that you will be buying them from. If you rely on advice that they give you, they are required by law to take them back if the advice is wrong. However, you have to be ready to return them in "new" condition.
I would also ask in advance about their return policy and any costs to you if they are wrong.

Most people use skates that are equal or smaller than their shoe size but it depends on the shape of your foot. If your feet are wider than they planned for, you may need a larger size.

You want them to feel snug all around your foot without crushing your toes. If they are not snug, they will move around while grinding or landing and could have bad results.
