Im getting a helmet for skatebording. HELP?
Thursday, October 8th, 2009My brother sytarted to skateboard (hes a teen) and I want to get him a helmet for christmas, since his is bad. Any reccomendations are helpful…. oh, and i wanna get it spraypainted so i guess no design. he has a purple and silver girl skateboard. If you can, any ideas for the spraypainting
Your best bet is to get your bro a gift certificate from a local skate shop. He can pick out the helmet he likes best and one that fits right. Different brands and even different models of the same brand will fit differently.
I prefer Pro-Tec helmets, The B2 or the classic skate are my favorites. Expect to pay around $40-50 for a quality helmet. Multi Impact foam, although a bit more expensive to purchase, allows for greater comfort and the ability to withstand several impacts before the helmet or pads need to be replaced. A single impact helmet (hard foam) will allow for only one impact before the helmet must be replaced.
