The Congressional Globe is Pre-1890.
In Particular I am searching for Legislation during the Civil War. The Congressional Record has Indexes, etc which will point to the exact location of a topic, speech, etc.

Does the Congressional Globe have the same?

Truly a question for the Library of Congress. They are the keepers of both records and will explain how to research the Globe.

I will be going to Bangkok soon and I will be activating my Globe sim card for international roaming so that I can contact family here in the Philippines. Can I use the same sim card to call someone from Bangkok when I’m already there? Or do I need to buy a local sim card? If so, how much would it cost?

I don’t think you will have to buy a local Sim card but Calling from Thailand is very cheap. I don’t know what Globe charges you per minute but you might save money if you call the Philippines a lot or call locally by purchasing a local SIM. I think they are around $7 or 320 PHP

DTAC/Happy
AIS/1-2-Call

and you can get them at 7-11 or really just about anywhere.
International: use 008 or 009 instead of 001 or "+" for the international dialing code and the rate is around 5 baht per minute (3.5 cents a minute US) or (6.7PHP)

If you’ve seen the magnetic globes out there, they are pretty cool. Those globes suspended between poles come with this feature. My globe has no top pole but is suspended by the magnetic field from below. You have to plug this in. Any ideas how to make the globe turn by itself?

Just give it a spin with your hand. The lack of friction should keep it spinning for quite a while.

The original Globe Theatre of London was built in 1599 by William Shakespeare,the Burbages,and four others on the Thames Bankside at Southwark. In 1613 it was destroyed by fire and rebuilt. The second theatre survived until 1644.

I’m not looking for an inaccurate, old style globe, but a completely modern globe with all the place names either in Latin, or Latinized.
Max K: Well, you’d add the names of new countries in the same way that you Latinize any name: you assign the name to the most convenient declension, and put it in the nominative case.

I don’t think that would work, because you couldn’t just add new names of places to globe, how would you name places like canada, or brazil? The language is only use full because it doesn’t change.
